Brady Quinn

17 January 2010

We need a solid QB. Keep in mind; I love DA's strong arm, and I want Brady Quinn to succeed but I'm not convinced that either one is the answer. But, what options do we have? We could look to free agency, but did you see that list of free agent QBs? The list includes Jason Campbell, Kyle Orton, Mike Vick, and Chad Pennington. Good luck with all that. Another option is to trade for a QB, but who is available? One option could be Kevin Kolb from Philadelphia. GM Heckert has ties to Philly, so maybe this could be an option....for a steep price of course. Kolb has a nice arm, and he has some experience running a WCO. Now, according to Harris' blog, he likes Sam Bradford...later in the draft, but I'm not so sure. I like Tony Pike from Cincy, Jevan Snead from Ole Miss, and Dan LeFevour from Central Michigan. All three QBs have had some success with less talent around them. Other QBs like Bradford, Tebow, and Clausen were surrounded by talent, and talent should win you games. Winning games equals success; success equals ESPN falling in love with you.

Okay...Brady Quinn had an awful game against the Ravens and a great game against the Lions. Now, he has three difficult games to prove himself...Bengals, Chargers, and Steelers. Will the real

n with Derek Anderson as the starter coming off a break-out year and the Notre Dame wunderkind Brady Quinn waiting in wings. We had the quarterback position locked down.  Wide Recievers? oh yeah, we had receivers. Braylon Edwards was catching everything but the flu last year. We added the the speedster Donte Stallworth and how about that Kellen Winslow.. The offensive line was tight and we shored up the defense with some veteran free agents. We were ready for prime time! Then the wheels fell off and we're 4-9 looking at 4-12. Actually in fairness I must say that only half the wheels fell off. You see, The Browns would be at least 8-5 right now if NFL games ended after the first thirty minutes of play. Unfortunatley, NFL games last AN HOUR! How many first half leads did we squander?

solid!  Philadelphia 24, New York Giants 23.

Short Shots:

Brady Quinn played very well last night in his 1st NFL start.  Unfortunately, his defense let him down, as did Kellen Winslow.  Maybe the Browns should make a play for DeAngelo Hall…it couldn’t hurt, right?

In the meantime, Derek Anderson seems to have become no more than the guy keeping Brady Quinn’s seat warm. Can’t wait to see that guy take a few snaps that mean something. Bet they wish they’d waited for Matt Ryan.

Oh. 0-4 huh?

Well, looking at the box, there's some good and some bad. For starters Brady Quinn looked a little more on track. I'd call 7 of 9 a pretty productive day, and the Bears first team defense is never a slouch (Urlacher, Briggs, Vasher and Tillman all played). And you know, complain as you will, Quinn actually held his own this preseason.

ason to pause and rewind their Tivo in confusion.

The bigger issue, though, is the Brady Quinn factor.
Not only are fans curious to see what they have in Quinn, the Browns also are not a complete team yet.

ck Charlie Frye after just two seasons and select LSU standout JaMarcus Russell or Notre Dame's Brady Quinn? Could the Browns bolster their receiving corps by selecting the incredible wideout from Georgia Tech, Calvin Johnson?
