Braylon Edwards

22 April 2009

From the stuff that I have heard, it sounds like the Browns like Crabtree and Crabtree likes the Browns. With Braylon most likely leaving via trade or next offseason during free agency, this should be

We had the quarterback position locked down.  Wide Recievers? oh yeah, we had receivers. Braylon Edwards was catching everything but the flu last year. We added the the speedster Donte Stallworth and how about that Kellen Winslow.. The offensive line was tight and we shored up the defense with some veteran free agents. We were ready for prime time! Then the wheels fell off and we're 4-9 looking at 4-12. Actually in fairness I must say that only half the wheels fell off. You see, The Browns would be at least 8-5 right now if NFL games ended after the first thirty minutes of play. Unfortunatley, NFL games last AN HOUR! How many first half leads did we squander?

Jones (DAL)—I’d rank him higher, but did we really expect him to succeed?

3. Braylon Edwards (CLE)—Dude, help your poor QB out and catch the darn thing already!

Make no mistake about it, if Braylon Edwards brought anything above his 'D' game yesterday and/or anyone above Syndric Steptoe played WR No. 2 (Stallworth, Cribbs, Terrelle Pryor, I don't care... LeBron) the point total would have reached the 20's.

put the ball in the end zone a little more, but that shouldn't be much of a problem with a healthy Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow.

But healthy is such a relative term.

The better news, and maybe the most important thing the stat line shows is that turnovers, as well as penalties, were down significantly. In the last three games of the preseason, the Orange and Brown managed to keep the ball off the turf. TWO turnovers in three games. And penalties, the hanky's weren't dropping as much either. In game four particularly, the Browns held it to five flags for 45 yards. Of course, any coach could and should ask for better than that even, but it's a far cry from the 10 for 128 yards in caution flags we got against the Giants.

If that is the case, third year wideout Braylon Edwards will certainly have done his part.

Edwards came into the league in 2005. Highly touted from Michigan, it was immediately evident that the young man had talent. But he also had concentration issues. For every incredible catch, he would follow it up with a back breaking drop.

His breakout coincided with the play of Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow. While the latter was already a known commodity, Braylon really needed to show that he deserved the status that comes with being the number three overall draft pick a few years back.

This year Braylon Edwards and Josh Cribbs were selected. But, again, I won’t watch. And it's not because the game doesn't matter. I've watched many snaps between teams who have no shot at the NFL playoffs. I can’t really explain it but I just don’t care about the actual Pro Bowl Game.

ast weekend 8-0 in the snow covered gridiron.  There is no more selling.  There should be no more Braylon Edwards leaping catches, Jamal Lewis pounding runs or Derek Anderson to Kevin Winslow

Second, wide receiver Braylon Edwards loves the snow, as the Michigan grad made some incredible snags. Third, kicker Phil Dawson will be immensely important as the season draws to a close. Phil “Stash” (not sure how that nickname came to be) nailed a 48-yard field goal that barely cleared the crossbar. And although I rarely agree with the CBS announcers, Steve Tasker was dead-on when he called it “epic”.
