First Down:
If you ever want to get updated Browns' info, tune into STO, channel 662 on Directv. You can call in and complain on All Bets Are Off with Bruce Drennan. On this show, you could also watch press conferences by RC and Savage. In my opinion, RC does a pretty good job answering questions. He really comes off as a nice guy, and he's not stupid. For the most part, he can see thru crappy or ambiguous questions. Savage, for the most part, makes sense, as well. Unlike these two guys, Belichick used to give short press conferences. According to some of the press, Belichick was condescending. Other good shows include the Berea Report, Browns Red Zone, Sunday Strategy, and ClevelandBrowns.com Preview Show.
Second Down:
Many people believe that RC might go. Others believe that RC and Savage will go, and as you know...rumors always run rampid, especially when the sea is rough. And, right now, our ship is sinking. Anyway, according to one writer, Don Banks, possible coaching replacements could include the following: Jim Schwartz, Titan DC; Marty Schottenheimer, former Browns coach; Bill Cowher, former Steeler coach; Steve Spagnuolo, Giant DC; or Kirk Ferentz, Iowa HC.
Third Down:
I started watching the Browns in 1980, and I was just a kid. Dad brainwashed me, even though we live in Eagle territory. However, I do remember Marty, and those were some good years. Browns' fans expected success, and we were angry when we lost. In this new Browns' era, some fans are becoming numb to this losing, and it makes me sick inside. Needless to say, I wouldn't mind Marty on our sidelines and I heard that he has the desire to come back to Cleveland. Marty, is this true?
Fourth Down:
During the 80s, Bill Cowher played and coached the Browns. I'd like to see him coaching the Browns, but will he really come here? Will he leave the booth and the warmth of his southern home? I hope so. I remember the years when he coached the Steelers, and I don't remember beating them on a regular basis. Furthermore, I remember playing them twice in the playoffs. Once in the 90s, Vinny was our QB, and Belichick was our coach. Truthfully, I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure that the Steelers beat us three times. Then, under Butch Davis, we lost three times. During that year, Kelly Holcomb was our QB in the playoffs. That takes us back to the 80s again. The last time that we dominated the Steelers was when Bernie Kosar was our QB. God, I miss those years.
OT:
Jim Schwartz, Kirk Ferentz, and Steve Spagnuolo look impressive. The Titans "D" looks great, Ferentz was in Cleveland many moons ago but his Iowa teams have struggled of late, and Spagnuolo turned down the Redskins' job last year. So, who's left? Urban from FLA? Stoops from Oklahoma? Well, for now, RC is the coach, and we have a tough game to prepare for against the Titans. If we can stop the run, we can be competitive. (Insert joke here.) Oh, that's right. Kerry Collins can throw a ball, too. Crap. Okay Ken Dorsey, step up and produce. It's your turn. It's time to complete some passes and put some points on the board. Can you solve our red zone problems?
