Cleveland Browns: Are we as bad as our record?

ANALYSIS

Okay, we are 0-3. In most cases, you want your team to progress each game. Unfortunately, our team seems to be regressing.

First, we had the lead 13-10 at the half of the Vikings' game, and then we collapsed.

Next, we played about 2 decent quarters against Denver, we were losing at half, and then we collapsed.

Last week, we put up a good fight against the Ravens....right up until the kickoff. That was ugly.

TODAY'S GAME: Bengals

offense...

1. The right side of the offensive line, including John St. Clair, must play better. If not, DA will have no time to pass the rock. If we give him some time, I think DA and the receivers could have a big day against the Bengals. Speaking of the issues at right tackle, is Jon Runyan available. I know that he had off-season surgery, but I think that we need to explore other options like Runyan, especially if St. Clair does not improve.

2. Jerome Harrison is our only healthy RB today. We signed Jennings from the practice squad.

3. Trading TE K2 might have been a mistake. After 3 games, our lack of talent is showing. I like Furrey, but Edwards is doing a sub par job, and Cribbs is not the answer at WR. Is it time to look at the rookie WRs? Next, Royal and Heiden are not filling K2's shoes. Then again, I don't even know if Heiden is getting quality opportunities to fill those shoes.

defense...

1. I like the fact that we put more pressure on the QB this year, but our DBs either shy away from hitting, hit too high, or suck at tackling. What gives? I thought Mangini was supposed to bring some toughness.

2. I thought DC, Ryan, would turn our "D" around, and maybe he will. I'm not even sure if he has the right pieces to be successful. Our game plan against the Vikings and Broncos looked solid for a half, but it was non-existent against the Ravens. Then again, our schedule is tougher than I thought; even the Bengals and Lions are playing competitively.

3. Are we lacking heart on "D?" Or, are we lacking talent?
