This week, it feels good to be a Browns' fan.

In the words of the optimist, I knew the offense could produce, even without Kellen Winslow. I knew the defense would get it together. If we play like this from here on out, we can make the playoffs.

In the words of the pessimist, we will have to play another perfect game against the Redskins, especially if we commit all those penalties again. We lack discipline.

All Bets Are Off with Bruce Drenna on STO (Sportstime Ohio): Someone called in...I believe on Monday...predicting that the Browns would win by 21 points. The host, Bruce Drennan, callers, and e-mailers contacted the show, poking fun at the prediction and at the caller, David. This heckling went on for the duration of the show. It was sad; it sounded like this caller had a speech impediment. I'm not sure, but I do know one thing. This caller, David, apparently knew what he was talking about. He can make predictions for me any day.

Okay, Browns Town...it's 17-14 at half. We have a chance. D.A. needed to have a good first half, and he did. I still believe that we need to score 30 points to win.

Let's see the adjustments the coaching staff makes at half time. We have plenty to improve upon. Don't take me the wrong way; we need good coaching during the game, as well. But, the really good coaches make some changes and adjustments at half time. We still need to put pressure on Eli Manning, but maybe we need to hide coverages and blitzes a little better. We need to keep the Giants guessing. If not, Eli will pick us apart, just like he did at the end of the half. Furthermore, we can't allow the Giant running game to push us around. We need to disrupt things in the backfield before they get started. Can we do it? Time will tell. The Giants get the ball first.

As a die-hard Browns fan, I wonder how the rest of the season will unfold. Is the Giants' game a make-or-break game? Or, has that point passed us? Well, I guess it depends on your perspective. Are you optimistic or pessimistic?

Let's get some issues out of the way. Yes, I'm excited that the Browns have their team back. Yes, I'm happy that the Browns had a successful season last year. Yes, I'm excited that the Browns have five nationally televised games this year.

But, I was at that Dallas game. D.A. played ok, and Jamal Lewis ran hard. Unfortunately, we couldn't stop any Dallas running back or their receivers. We lost to the Steelers at home in stormy weather, and then the Ravens dumped us with their defense. We even had a lead at half, but we couldn't rattle their rookie QB. I don't know who to thank for our victory against the Bengals...Carson Palmer, Jamal Lewis for setting the pace at the beginning of the game, or Braylon Edwards for finally catching a ball.
